SURYA DRONE TECH 2025: India’s Indigenous Drone Expo

Surya Drone Tech 2025, held on 29^th of April 2025 at Jaswant Ground in Dehradun, put India’s homegrown drone technology on full display. Organised by the HW Central Command of the Indian Army in collaboration with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), the two- day expo aligned with the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat vision (Self- Reliant India). In fact, the event’s theme and exhibitors celebrated indigenous innovation in defence manufacturing. The inauguration ceremony was led by Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.), Mr. Rajinder Singh Bhatia (SIDM President), and Lt. Gen. Anindhya Sengupta, GOC-in-C Central Command, underscoring the high-level support for India’s drone ecosystem. 

A Focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat and Innovation 

Surya Drone Tech showcased cutting- edge Unmanned aerial vehicles and counter- drone technologies developed in India. Dignitaries noted that the exhibition reinforced India’s push towards Atmanirbharta in defence. The presence of top leaders highlighted the strategic importance of the event. The expo’s environment was celebratory and forward=looking, focused on empowering Indian startups and manufacturers to drive the next wave of defence innovation. 

Aebocode’s Proud Moment 

For Aebocode Technolgies, the event was especially memorable. The Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand himself took the controls of an Aebocode Drone, personally flying it during the exhibition. This highlight became a proud moment for the company- a sign of government confidence in Aebocode’s capabilities. The image of the Governor piloting a homegrown UAV captured the spirit of the expo. Aebocode’s team beamed as their innovation literally took flight under official endorsement. 

Showcasing Indigenous Drones 

AT their booth, Aebocode Technoligies presented a lineup of four advanced indigenous defence drones, each designed for a specific mission, which included: 

• Surveillance Drone- built for intelligence and reconnaissance in defence operations. 

• VTOL High Endurance Drone-  

• High- speed FPV Drone- a first person view UAV optimised for rapid, real-time piloting missions 

• Training Drone- an UAV used in defence training programs to prepare soldiers for drone operations. 

Each system was crafted with the need s of India’s armed forces in mind. Highlighting Aebocode’s commitment to indigenously developing versatile drone for modern missions. Visitors saw these drones up close, with love demonstrations underscoring their capabilities.
